Church membership and plurality of elders are important subjects for this day and age. Scripture has a clear view of what congregational structure and government should look like; a plurality of elders shepherding a specific congregation. This structure allows for undershepherds (elders) to know precisely for whom they will give an account. What’s more, this structure allows for the congregation to know which leaders to obey (should a local congregation member concern himself with what the pastor in Timbuktu says, or should he obey the leadership God has placed over him?).
We look at these ideas and more in our ordination service of our two elders, Dave and James! Praise God for providing leadership that earnestly desires to see the flock grow in the image and likeness of Christ!
