If we were to read Scripture, particularly in Matthew 21, we might find the reading of the curse upon the fig tree to be somewhat out of place. Even the question the disciples ask, “How did the fig tree wither at once?” seems like the wrong question to ask.
Nevertheless, Jesus answers the “how” with a simple instruction on faith. He explains that if we have faith in God and do not doubt, greater things than the cursing on the fig tree can happen.
